Keegan "Christmas" morning by the tree!
Our Christmas plans took a turn for the worse this year. On the Wednesday before Christmas we got sent to the hospital with Riley because she had pneumonia and fluid build up on the outside of her left lung. She had been on antibiotics for a few days but we were not seeing any change and the amount of work it took for her to breathe really concerned our doctor. We thought we would be there for a couple of days of IV antibiotics and then we would be coming home. To make a long story short that did not happen. She ended up having surgery Thursday night to put in 2 chest tubes to drain the fluid around her left lung. She had to be in ICU for a few days, but we began to see improvements each day. She was such a trooper through it all. She ended up being in the hospital for a full 7 days and she got sent home on another 2 weeks of antibiotics. It was a very scary time for us and we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers!
Riley's "Christmas" morning in the PICU at Cardon Children's Hospital.
Santa's elf bringing Riley presents, Mrs. Claus in the background and Santa is in the doorway...Riley was not too sure about letting Santa in her room.
Santa heard that Riley was a VERY good girl and that she likes princess stuff :)
A smile, they were hard to come by for a while there...the only other way to guarantee a smile was to make her bed move, she found that very funny.
