Last week we went to Washington, D.C. with Matt's work - this picture is from one of our dinners (more pictures below). Riley did very well on the airplane ride both coming and going, although going she had a couple of moments. We had a nice time and got to see some of the sights - we were a little limited because Riley would not find all that stuff fun and mainly with me being 7 1/2 months pregnant I was not really up for walking around all day in the heat and humidity. Overall we had a good time and now just back to the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Hanging Out
National Harbor
Old Town Alexandria
One day we decided to take the Water Taxi from our hotel across the river to Old Town Alexandria. We enjoyed a nice lunch and walked around the little town for a while.

Here we are at the old Torpedo Factory.

Monuments and Memorials Tour
While on our trip we did a monuments and memorials tour. We had a good time, but it was a VERY long day and a lot of walking...I am really not sure how I made it through the day.

We started at our day at the Washington Monument.

Matt and I at the World War II Memorial.

Me climbing the stairs at the Lincoln Memorial...I am trying to hold my breathe because the people walking down beside me forgot to shower that day.

Lincoln Memorial.

The White House, if you look closely at the roof you can see the two guys checking everything out.

At the changing of the guard at Arlington National Cemetery.
As you may notice there are no pictures of Riley, she stayed with Mimi (Matt's mom) that day. We were very appreciative of that because she would have be miserable all day long, thanks so much Mimi!

"Winter" in July at the Zoo
This past Saturday at the Phoenix Zoo they had "Winter in July" and we went to check it out. They brought in snow (basically just shaved ice) for the kids to play in and gave some to the animals to play with. Riley seemed to enjoy playing in the snow, but it definitely did not feel like winter. It was incredibly hot, so needless to say we did not stay too long; but it was still fun!

Pregnancy Update
Here is Riley trying to look like Mommy.

I had my 28 week check up last Thursday and I got GREAT news...no gestational diabetes. I was stunned when I got the news, since I had it with Riley there was only a 1 out of 3 chance that I would not have it the second time around. Regardless, it was thrilling news! Things are moving along, but I am definitely feeling more tired at the end (or middle) of the day and bending is getting to be more difficult. He is moving more and more and he gets the hiccups a lot just like Riley used to. It looks like our big day will be September 24th!! It is amazing to think that we only have about 10 weeks left, WOW, time is just flying by.

Our Cutie
I just wanted to share a cute picture of Riley from the weekend. When I first looked at this picture I just thought, wow she looks so big now. She is growing up too fast. She has been really talking more lately. People always say it happens over night and it really does...last Friday/Saturday she all of a sudden starting repeating everything we saw. She had a pretty good vocabulary before, but now she says EVERYTHING. It is so amazing to watch her change day to day. She also likes to show us how things are to happen. For example: when it is time for a diaper change she will get a wipe out of the container and hold it until you undo her diaper and then hand it to you and point to her bum. She also likes to go get her towel and washcloth out of the dresser when it is bath time. I know I have said this before, but she is just amazing!
Silly Girl
Mommy's Little Helper
Riley has become quite the little helper lately; she is especially helpful with the laundry. She helps me load the washer, load the dryer and even helps "fold" the laundry. Well, she may not fold so nicely yet, but she can sort the laundry with what is mommy's and what is daddy's...it is so funny!!
