1st "Real" Bath

Keegan finally got to have his first "real" bath tonight, not just a little sponge bath. We had to wait until his umbilical cord fell off and it finally did. We were beginning to wonder if it would ever come off. He seemed to really enjoy the bath!

Family Update

We took Keegan to the doctor for his one month check up last Tuesday and he is up to 8lbs 10.5oz! He has been having some problems though, he screams crying just about every time after he eats; at first I thought it was gas related, but then started thinking there must be more to it. He also has a bit of reflux, so the doctor prescribed Zantac twice a day to see if that would help. It seems that yesterday he finally turned the corner a bit. He has been much more comfortable after eating, although now he seems to be spitting up more!?! Other than that he is just great; well, of course it would be better if he would sleep longer than 3 hours at a time at night but that will come with time I suppose. He is now starting to make some cooing noises and they are so cute. He is also turning into a little bald guy, the hair on the top of his head is receding, but the sides and back are staying put for now.

While we were at the doctors office Riley got her flu shot and the H1N1 vaccine. She did cry a bit (the 2nd shot puts her over the edge, 1 she can handle without a peep), but it was short lived. We came home at had a "pop" (popsicle) for being so good! She is still just so much fun and so funny! Her vocabulary continues to grow and she is putting more and more words together, I imagine one day we will wake up and she will be speaking in sentences.

Over the last week Matt and I have had our fair share of shots also. We both got the flu shot for the first time. It was recommended since we have a child under 6 months and he is not able to get any vaccines. Then Saturday we stood in line at Wal-Mart for 3.5 hours to get the H1N1 vaccine. Yes, 3.5 hours, it was crazy, but if it is what is best for Keegan it is worth it. We were supposed to go with friends to a pumpkin patch, but instead all of us got shots - not quite the same, but a good deed done.

Dirty Bailey

While Bailey was outside the other morning she decided that she was going to dig in the dirt and get her face all dirty. Needless to say I was not letting her in until I could clean her face, so Riley sat at the door looking at Bailey until I finally let her in. So sweet of Riley to keep Bailey company.

Tummy Time

Keegan seems to enjoy tummy time for a short time, he is very good at holding his head up. Riley likes to put toys all around him for him to look at. Well, on this day he was on his tummy one minute and then his back the next...he decided that he was just going to roll over. I was amazed!

Keegan

Keegan and his first piece of mail.

Hanging out in his swing - what a life!!

His room (or at least part of it).

Last night was his first night sleeping in his own room - I think we all got a little more sleep. He did very well...I got up at 1:30am and 4:30am to feed him and each time he went right back to sleep.

Love the smiles, even if it is just gas.

Quite an Outfit

The other day after we got Riley dressed she found these little "panties" that go with a dress of hers and had to put them on all by herself. She was not able to get them all the way up in the back, but did not want us to help her. Needless to say she went around like this for the next few hours - at least we were just at home.

Daddy Time

Okay, I have to take a moment and brag about my wonderful husband. Not only is he is the best husband and friend anyone can ask for, but he is also a wonderful father. He loves to spend time with the kids and truly enjoys it - he is most definitely a hands on dad and I appreciate that more than anything. He is there for every new adventure and there for all the not so fun stuff as well! We love him for everything he does.

Big Girl Bed

Riley has now started sleeping in her big girl bed. We started with naps last Friday and then a few nights ago she wanted to sleep in it and has had nothing to do with the crib since then. She is doing very well with the change. I think she is so happy to be a "big girl"! Okay, the truth...our big motivation to make the change is that since my c-section I am not supposed to lift Riley for 6 weeks, WOW!! We are just so glad that she has taken to the change so easily, at least so far.

Funny Girl!!

Riley is so much fun these days! She is always doing stuff that makes us laugh out loud lately. As you look at these pictures you can see that she is very in to purses, hats, sunglasses, make-up, and baby dolls. Every time we leave the house we always have to have a purse, which must include: a phone, sunglasses, and make-up (pretend of course). She often times puts on the hat and walks around the house and loves having her baby do things with her. She is just too much!!

Keegan Update

Well, Keegan is doing great! We took him back to the doctor on Wednesday for a weight check and he is now back up to birth weight (actually past birth weight) so that was very good news, he is now 7lbs. 6.5oz. He has really gotten the eating thing down now and he usually does a 3-4 hour sleeping stretch at night, so not too bad for a new little guy. He seems to be pretty mellow and just a joy to have around.

Keegan Jon Klandrud

(His hat does not want to stay on so well.)

Keegan Jon was born September 15, 2009 at 7:33pm. He weighed 7lbs 4oz and 20 inches long.

Well, we finally got to meet our new little guy. We arrived at the hospital Tuesday evening at 5pm and started the process to get ready for the c-section. It was a bit nerve racking, but at 7:33pm the BIG moment had finally arrived, Keegan was here and was doing well. We spent 2 nights in the hospital and got to come home Thursday evening. So far things are going well. My healing is going good; of course I am still sore, but each day gets better. Keegan is wonderful! He has been a bit of a funny eater, but I think he is starting to do a little better and so far he is pretty mellow. We all love him!!

Awaiting to go back for the c-section...waiting to meet our little boy.

Here he is getting all cleaned up.

Just hanging out.

Our first picture all of us together (except for Riley at home with Nana).

Our little cutie!

So relaxed!

Getting ready for our ride out of the hospital.

We arrived home safely.

Riley Meeting Keegan

Since we did not get home from the hospital until around 8pm on Thursday night we had Riley stay the night with Matt's parents and come home Friday morning to meet Keegan. At first she just smiled at him and was not too sure, but she quickly warmed up to him and wanted him in her lap. As each day goes on she just loves him more and more. She has to know where he is at all times and thinks it is really funny every time he moves or makes a noise. She loves to give him kisses! She is a little on edge about everything with such a big change, but not too bad. At times she wants to get a little too close or be a little to rough, so we just have to keep a close eye on her, but so far so good...

Riley's New Baby

We got Riley a little boy baby doll along with things often used for babies so that she would have her own new baby. She LOVES her new baby and all his "belongs".

Riley thought it was funny to sit in the baby's bed with him.

Baby News

Sorry I have not posted much lately, but we have been having some excitement. My blood pressure has been on the rise over the past 2 weeks, so we have had to make a few trips to the hospital for tests. Well, it kept getting a bit worse, but not bad enough to do anything. Well, yesterday at my appointment we had decided to move my c-section to this Friday to just keep me out of danger and we repeated the blood work. I got a call yesterday afternoon that my blood work was not normal so they moved me up to today. We have to be at the hospital at 5pm, so sometime tonight our little guy will be here. We are VERY excited!!! (pictures to come)

Hear No Evil

The other day Matt and I were driving in the car without the radio on just chatting...well, he turned around to find Riley like this. We decided that she must not have been enjoying our conversation. She is too funny!!

Great Pictures with Dad

I just love these 2 pictures of Matt and Riley, they both have the biggest smiles on their faces!

Riley's pig tails!!! I just love them!! Not much of her hair stays up at this point, but I still think they are too cute.

Modeling Skills

It seems that Riley has been practicing her modeling skills lately. First it was in dad's shirt, which is quite funny. Then it was in Papa's work hat...in this one it really looks like she is doing the "model walk" and then turns and poses.
