Kristin's Wedding
Matt's aunt, Kristin, got married a couple of weeks ago and the kids were a part of the beautiful wedding! I did not get many pictures, but here are a few.

The beautiful flower girl!

The handsome ring bearer and Matt (who also looked so handsome)!

Riley dancing, we had to drag her off the dance floor to go home!

Keegan Update
Where do we start? Poor Keegan has had some excitement this year...in January he had an ear infection and February he had the other ear get infected. Our trip to Boston has been postponed :( We do not have a new date yet, but we are hopeful for May. After another visit to the ENT and a x-ray we discovered that Keegan's adenoids needed to come out because of how large they were. The doctor we are seeing in Boston wanted the adenoids removed before we come there so he had them taken out on February 23rd. All went well with the surgery, but two days after I took him to the doctor and he had a double ear infection. I am hopeful that with his adenoids gone that the ear infections will be gone as well...only time will tell. He is finally feeling better now!
On a happy note he is just too funny to be around. He has a great sense of humor and loves to play. Lately he has wanted to throw everything and still loves to turn his toys upside down. He is doing great with directions, unless of course you tell him no, he does not always want to listen. He has also had a little attitude come out lately when he does not get his way, so much fun! He definitely keeps us on our toes.
Riley Update
Riley has been doing great after everything during the holidays, but over the last week and a half she has had a cough that she just cannot shake. I took her in to the doctor Monday and overall she sounds good, but we are to do breathing treatments for a couple of weeks to help her out a bit. She also had a right ear infection. She has been doing amazing with her breathing treatments :) She is so brave! Besides that excitement she is great. She is still loving school and swim class. She is able to spell some words including her name. She knows what many more words start with, it is just amazing how they learn and soak everything in. She is just so sweet (well, most of the time)!!

My Little Ham
On Friday I pulled out the camera and told Keegan to say cheese...this was the result. He is just too cute these days!
Tyring to put his new shoes on!
Big news from Friday evening - Keegan took 4-5 steps on his own!! I will work on getting video or at the least some pictures, but it will be difficult. He is a VERY stubborn individual and will not do things when you want him to. I have known this about him, but it is becoming more and more apparent as time goes on. We are definitely in for it with this little guy!

Mr. Keegan, The Latest and Greatest
I thought I should probably give an update on Keegan. We are excited to say that on March 13th we will be traveling to Children's Hospital of Boston to have Keegan examined in the motility department. Overall he is doing better, I am thinking that the new reflux medication is helping a bit; but it still seems that things aren't moving quite right or something. We are hopeful that maybe we will find some answers. At least for now he is gaining weight nicely.
Keegan is sooo much fun these days. He is in to everything, the complete opposite of Riley. He has to explore everything and he really likes to empty drawers and cabinets. He loves to play with all of toys and is very into climbing. It is amazing how much he has changed in just the last month.

Riley's 3!
It is hard to believe that our little girl is now 3! For Riley's birthday we enjoyed playing and eating pizza at Chuck E Cheese's and then came home for cake.

Her Tinkerbell cake, her new favorite!

A wonderful birthday outfit (thanks Aunt Emily)!

Keegan playing at Chuck E Cheese's!

Just about to blow out her candles.

Riley's Homecoming
Riley got to come home on December 29th, which happens to be Nana's birthday. Thanks to Mimi for making cupcakes to celebrate both!

After returning home and settling in a bit, we thought we should make cookies for Santa since we requested a special visit on December 29th since Riley was not home on the 25th. Riley enjoyed making the cookies and Keegan just played, maybe next year he can makes cookies too. I tried to get a picture of both of them in front of the Christmas tree with the cookies for Santa, but those did not turn out so well :(

For those of you wondering about the toy closet...it was the coolest thing at the hospital. After Riley had anything done (for example: IV put in, x-ray, chest tube out, etc...) she got to go into a HUGE closet filled with toys and pick out a prize for being so brave. There were so many toys, it was even overwhelming to me. Needless to say after a week we came home with many new toys! Matt and I plan to make a donation to the toy closet this year!!

Last Couple of Days in the Hospital
Here are a few pictures of Riley's last couple of days in the hospital...as you can see it was filled with some pretty fun stuff. She got to blow bubbles in bed!! After getting her second (and final) chest tube out she got to pick another toy out of the toy closet and she picked a set that included a purse, shoes, necklace, braclets, and clip on earrings - more princess gear!! She just had to wear everything, too cute. Finally we got to go home...happy day!!

Keegan the Problem Solver
Keegan often enjoys watching the washer and dryer in action, but I caught him trying to play with the buttons as well. He apparently figured out in order to reach buttons that are too high he could just knock over the diaper bag and stand on top. You can tell by the little devilish grin on his face he knew he was doing something wrong. Little stinker!!

Our "Christmas"
I have put Christmas in quotations because our Christmas took place on December 30th this year, but here are a few pictures from December 25th...

Keegan "Christmas" morning by the tree!
Our Christmas plans took a turn for the worse this year. On the Wednesday before Christmas we got sent to the hospital with Riley because she had pneumonia and fluid build up on the outside of her left lung. She had been on antibiotics for a few days but we were not seeing any change and the amount of work it took for her to breathe really concerned our doctor. We thought we would be there for a couple of days of IV antibiotics and then we would be coming home. To make a long story short that did not happen. She ended up having surgery Thursday night to put in 2 chest tubes to drain the fluid around her left lung. She had to be in ICU for a few days, but we began to see improvements each day. She was such a trooper through it all. She ended up being in the hospital for a full 7 days and she got sent home on another 2 weeks of antibiotics. It was a very scary time for us and we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers!

Riley's "Christmas" morning in the PICU at Cardon Children's Hospital.

Santa's elf bringing Riley presents, Mrs. Claus in the background and Santa is in the doorway...Riley was not too sure about letting Santa in her room.

Santa heard that Riley was a VERY good girl and that she likes princess stuff :)

A smile, they were hard to come by for a while there...the only other way to guarantee a smile was to make her bed move, she found that very funny.

Mashed Potatoes and Gravy
For a while now I thought crackers were Keegan's favorite food to taste, but boy was I wrong (at least for tonight). He rather enjoyed tasting, licking and playing with his mashed potatoes and gravy...there were several times that he licked his spoon clean. I think we will be having mashed potatoes and gravy every night, well at least Keegan.

Breakfast with Santa 2010
Each year the preschool at church does a Breakfast with Santa event which is lots of fun. You go eat and then have your picture taken with Santa. I am always excited for them to have their picture with Santa, they are not quite as excited.

Riley being silly, waiting for Santa to arrive!

Tyring to get a picture of the two of them together is rather difficult, just have to take what you can get.

Keegan waiting in line to see Santa (I just love how his feet are crossed).

It was very difficult to get Keegan to turn around for a picture, he just wanted to look at Santa...Riley is still not so sure about Santa, but no real tears this year.

Gotta watch out with Santa, almost had a kid down!

Our BEST picture :)
